
Bird Songs and Calls Practice with the British Trust for Ornithology

Have you ever wondered, "What bird is calling from the hedge?" or "Is that a Dunnock or a Blackcap singing?" If these are questions you’ve asked yourself, why not join our Bird Songs and Calls Practice workshop?
To celebrate National Dawn Chorus Day, the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) will be hosting this special event at Ascott Estate. The focus will be on practicing bird identification by song and call. Join the BTO’s knowledgeable team of staff and volunteers to build your confidence and refresh your bird ID skills in a relaxed and friendly environment, all while contributing to bird conservation efforts.
Expect to encounter a variety of garden, scrubland, and woodland birds, giving you the opportunity to fine-tune your identification skills. If you’re eager to make the most of birdwatching this spring and want to develop the exciting skill of identifying birds by sound, this session is perfect for you!
Pricing and Information:
- Event Fee: £10 per person (please book your event ticket through the BTO).
- Pre-booking is essential
- Gardens Admission: All participants must have a valid, pre-booked Gardens admission ticket to enter Ascott. National Trust Members: Free entry with a valid membership card (event fee still applies).
- Event Duration: Approximately 2 hours
