Exhibition: Ascott at War

Discover the Untold Story of Ascott House During the Second World War

This summer, in commemoration of the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Days, we are unveiling a special exhibition that reveals the untold history of Ascott House during the war. For the first time, never-before-seen archival material will be on display, offering an exclusive look at the important role this estate played.

Ascott House was transformed in unexpected ways during the conflict - first as a Red Cross infirmary, and later an infirmary outstation for In-Pensioners from the Royal Hospital Chelsea following a devastating bombing raid on their Infirmary.

Through photographs, documents, and personal accounts, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore these newly discovered materials and hear the personal stories that highlight Ascott’s crucial role during the war. Don’t miss this chance to uncover a unique chapter in history.
